Terms of Service

These terms explain what you get when you work with us, what we cannot control, and the rules both sides agree to. In plain language first: we are an independent clinical-placement assistance service for Herzing University MSN and DNP nurse practitioner students. We work to line up a qualified, Herzing-approvable preceptor in your specialty and state and to keep your paperwork on track, but we do not control the decisions your university, a clinical site, or a state licensing board ultimately make. By using this site or engaging our service, you agree to the terms below.

Who we are (and who we are not)

We are an independent service. We are not Herzing University, the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE), or any nursing board, and nothing on this site should be read as a claim of affiliation, partnership, sponsorship, or endorsement by any of them. We are not retained by, and do not speak for, Herzing.

Because we are independent, your enrollment, academic standing, course requirements, and graduation are governed entirely by your agreement with Herzing University and its current handbook and policies. Our service sits alongside that relationship to help you find and secure a clinical preceptor; it does not change, replace, or override anything in it.

We are also not Herzing's APRN Clinical Placement Pledge. That Pledge is a real benefit Herzing offers its own students, on its own conditions, and Herzing — not us — administers it. You can read how it actually works, and where its conditions leave a gap, on our clinical placement page. Our role is to help you meet Herzing's deadlines and approval requirements early so you are not leaning on a conditional, deadline-gated backstop at the last minute.

What our service does

When you engage us, we work to identify and secure a qualified preceptor in your NP specialty and state whose credentials are appropriate for Herzing's approval requirements, and we support you through the documentation Herzing asks for — including the preceptor's CV and the signed preceptor agreement your clinical application needs.

In practice, the support we provide typically includes the following.

  • Sourcing and outreach to find a preceptor and clinical site matched to your track and location.
  • Helping you assemble the materials Herzing requires for clinical approval, including the preceptor's CV and a signed preceptor agreement.
  • Coaching on timing so you can begin Herzing's formal placement process on schedule — see clinical deadlines.
  • General guidance on the background check, immunization clearance, and your program's clinical tracking system — see clinical compliance.

A preceptor we propose still has to be reviewed and approved by Herzing before it counts. Our job is to put a genuinely approvable candidate in front of you early; the approval decision itself belongs to your university.

What we cannot guarantee

We will put real effort into securing a placement, but we cannot promise an outcome that someone else controls. Specifically, we do not guarantee any of the following, because each is decided by a third party.

  • That Herzing will approve a particular preceptor, site, or clinical application.
  • That a preceptor or site will agree to take you, remain available, or honor a tentative commitment.
  • The exact number of clinical hours, course sequence, or deadlines your program requires — those come from your current Herzing handbook, and we confirm them against it rather than state them as fixed. See clinical hours.
  • Eligibility, licensure, or certification decisions made by a state board of nursing or certifying body.

If a placement does not come together despite our work, that does not entitle you to anything beyond the terms agreed in your engagement. We are not an insurer of outcomes.

Fees and payment

We believe in no surprises. Any fee for our service is disclosed to you in writing before you commit, so you know the full cost up front. We do not bury charges or add undisclosed fees later.

Payment is structured around results: your service fee is due once a preceptor is secured for you, on the terms set out in your engagement. What counts as "secured," the exact amount, and any deposit or scheduling terms are stated in that written agreement before you proceed. You can review how this works in general on our cost page.

Our fees are for placement assistance only. We never collect, hold, or refund tuition. Tuition is strictly between you and Herzing University.

No tuition refunds — and no money-back guarantee

To be completely clear, because the two are easy to confuse: Herzing's Clinical Placement Pledge is a placement backstop, not a refund. There is no Herzing tuition-refund or money-back guarantee tied to clinical placement, and we make no such promise either.

Nothing on this site or in our service should be read as a guarantee that tuition, fees, or any payment will be returned if a placement, a course, or your program does not go the way you hoped. If a refund of our service fee is available in any situation, it is governed only by the written terms of your engagement with us.

Not legal, academic, or clinical advice

The information on this site and the guidance we give is general in nature. It is meant to help you understand the placement process and plan ahead — it is not legal advice, not academic advising, and not clinical or medical advice, and it does not create any professional or fiduciary relationship beyond the service you engage us for.

Program rules change, and details vary by track, state, and enrollment term. Always confirm the specifics with Herzing University and your assigned advisors before you act, and rely on your current official Herzing handbook for any requirement, deadline, or hour count. Where our pages cite commonly published figures, we say so and verify them against your program rather than presenting them as guaranteed.

Your responsibilities

Our work depends on accurate, timely information from you. By using our service you agree to do the following.

  • Give us correct details about your track, state, enrollment status, and timeline, and tell us promptly if anything changes.
  • Stay enrolled and in good standing with Herzing and follow your program's own clinical guidance process and deadlines.
  • Complete the steps only you can complete — background check, immunization clearance, and onboarding with your clinical tracking system — when they come due.
  • Communicate honestly with any preceptor or site we introduce, and treat those relationships professionally.

If required information is missing, inaccurate, or late, it can delay or prevent a placement, and we are not responsible for outcomes caused by that.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent allowed by law, our total liability for any claim arising out of your use of this site or our service is limited to the amount of the service fee you actually paid us for the engagement in question. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses — including missed deadlines, delayed graduation, lost income, or decisions made by Herzing, a clinical site, a preceptor, or a licensing board.

We provide this site and our service in good faith, but "as is" with respect to general information. We do not warrant that every detail here is complete or current at the moment you read it, which is why we ask you to confirm the specifics with your program.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as our service or the law evolves. The version posted here is the one that applies, and continuing to use the site or our service after an update means you accept the revised terms. The terms of any active engagement are governed by the written agreement in place when you signed it.

If you have questions about anything here, or want to understand how our assistance fits with Herzing's own process before you commit, reach out and we will walk you through it.

Questions

Good to know

Are you affiliated with Herzing University or the CCNE?

No. We are an independent clinical-placement assistance service. We are not Herzing University, the CCNE, or any nursing board, and we are not endorsed by or partnered with them. Your enrollment and academic requirements are governed entirely by your agreement with Herzing.

Is your service the same as Herzing's Clinical Placement Pledge?

No. The Pledge is a conditional, deadline-gated placement backstop that Herzing offers and administers for its own students. We are a separate, independent service that works to secure a qualified, Herzing-approvable preceptor early so you meet Herzing's deadlines instead of relying on that backstop. See our clinical placement page for how the Pledge actually works.

Do you guarantee I will get a placement?

We work to secure a qualified, approvable preceptor and support your paperwork, but we cannot guarantee outcomes that a third party controls — whether Herzing approves a given preceptor or site, whether a site accepts you, or any licensing-board decision. Our engagement terms set out exactly what we commit to do.

When do I pay, and could there be hidden fees?

There are no hidden fees. Any fee is disclosed to you in writing before you commit, and your service fee is due once a preceptor is secured, on the terms in your engagement. See our cost page for how this generally works.

Do you offer tuition refunds or a money-back guarantee?

No. We never collect, hold, or refund tuition — that is strictly between you and Herzing, and Herzing has no tuition-refund guarantee tied to placement. Any refund of our own service fee, if available, is governed only by your written engagement with us.

Is the information on this site official advice?

No. It is general information to help you plan, not legal, academic, or clinical advice. Program rules vary by track, state, and term and can change, so always confirm the specifics with Herzing University and rely on your current official handbook.
